Upcoming NAHB Webinar Will Highlight Updates to NGBS
This post has been updated.
A new edition of the National Green Building Standard (NGBS) will be coming out soon. NAHB is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. EST for members to learn more about the update.
This webinar will explore the fifth edition of the NGBS, the green building rating system for homes and multifamily projects and the premier residential green building standard. Panelists will include:
- Karla Butterfield of Steven Winter Associates,
- Greg Coolidge of Crescent Communities, and
- Carla Wasser of Home Innovation Research Labs.
NGBS provides home builders with a national standard to define and measure sustainable multifamily and single-family homes, developments and remodeling projects. It is administered by the Home Innovation Research Lab and can offer consumers a level of confidence they are purchasing an independently verified green home.
The new 2025 NGBS sets the benchmark for sustainable residential construction, renovation and land development. It applies to single-family, multifamily, mixed-use and land development projects nationwide, with adaptability for each project.
“Whether you’re a builder just starting to incorporate green practices or a high-performance expert delivering zero energy, resilient or wellness-focused projects, the 2025 NGBS gives you the flexibility to chart your own path,” said Michelle Foster, Vice President of Sustainability for Home Innovation Research Labs, in a recent interview. “It meets builders where they are — and gives them the tools and recognition to go further.”
This webinar is free to attend.
