Housing Affordability

The U.S. housing shortage is impeding workforce development, limiting economic growth at all levels, and challenging the ability of American businesses to thrive. In order to help advance practical solutions to improve housing affordability and accessibility across the country, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will host an inaugural housing summit in partnership with NAHB on Thursday, Nov. 6.

The event, Building for Growth: Housing Solutions for a Stronger Economy, will underscore the critical link between housing availability and economic development, convening leaders from the business community, public sector, academia and home building industry.

A series of panels will highlight key topics to navigating the housing affordability crisis, featuring professionals from across the housing ecosystem including:

  • Bill Owens, 2025 NAHB First Vice Chairman
  • Marty Mitchell, Mitchell & Best Homes CEO
  • Ken Wingert, NAHB Chief Advocacy Officer

The event will take place in Washington, D.C., and include a livestream option to attend virtually.
