The New American Home 2026: Innovation Meets Impact
The New American Home® 2026 (TNAH), the official show home of the 2026 NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) in Orlando, is already drawing industry buzz for its distinctive design and rare structural features.
But beyond its sleek look and high performance, the show home is a project with a compelling purpose. Unlike typical custom builds, this home is being developed not only as a private residence, but also as a venue for large-scale entertaining. Owner Jason Eichenholz, Ph.D., CEO and founder of Relativity Networks, plans to regularly host philanthropic and community-focused events in his new home.
Eichenholz’s vision for the project is deeply rooted in a personal mission close to his heart. Inspired by his son Jonathan, a young adult with autism, he founded Jonathan’s Landing, a foundation committed to developing a comprehensive, self-sustaining community where individuals with autism can live and work with a high degree of independence.
As chair of the organization, Eichenholz is using TNAH as a platform for building awareness and showcasing impact. He has pledged to match all contributions from manufacturers and suppliers of the home dollar-for-dollar in support of Jonathan’s Landing.
A Builder’s Challenge — and an Engineering Feat
In keeping with Eichenholz’s passion for innovation, the home also includes an unusually ambitious feature: a 13-foot-deep underground parking garage. Florida’s notoriously high water table typically makes basement construction impractical. However, this particular lot presented a rare opportunity.
Leveraging cutting-edge waterproofing technology and precise engineering, the build team successfully excavated and constructed a spacious subterranean garage that will accommodate Eichenholz’s extensive car collection.
This garage isn’t just a personal indulgence; it’s a testament to what’s possible with the right combination of site conditions, technology and expertise.
Tours of TNAH 2026 will be available exclusively to registered attendees of IBS 2026, taking place Feb. 17-19 in Orlando. Registration for the show will open Sept. 2.
