Tony Margiotta, president of Novatech Patio Doors, says his company’s strategy for success involves its products, employees and its ability to acquire companies with strong leadership teams.

“It starts with the acquisition and the growth strategy,” he explains. “Harold Savard, president and CEO of Novatech, told me, ‘Tony, we buy companies that have a good management team and try to expand and exploit that.’ They’re looking at the team. From the team, you get the best practices. It’s not Novatech with an ego; it’s more of let’s share the best practices to do right by our employees and customers.”

“We blended the companies together to present a unified front to our customers. I think we succeeded in that,” says Kevin Kavanagh, vice president of sales.

Today, Novatech produces doorglass from plants in Austintown, Ohio, and Egg Harbor Township, N.J., and patio doors from Ridgeway, Va. It also has two distribution centers in Atlanta and Dallas.
