NAHB Mourns the Passing of Former PWB Chair Lee Terry
Former NAHB Professional Women in Building (PWB) Chair and longtime member Lee M. Terry passed away on Sept. 1, 2022, at 85 following a battle with COPD and other complications. Terry’s more than 42-year career in home building and related industries as CEO at Lee Terry Recruiter, LLC, was one of her proudest accomplishments, according to her family.
Terry was the 2003 Chair of the NAHB Women’s Council, now known as NAHB PWB, and held several board and committee positions within NAHB, the California Building Industry Association, and local home builder associations in California, receiving many awards and honors throughout her career. She was also a past president of a charitable organization helping disadvantaged women.
As a mentor, Terry took great satisfaction in building, fostering, and strengthening enduring friendships. The NAHB PWB group page on social media contains many tributes to Terry from PWB leaders who refer to her as a “successful, generous, strong, powerhouse, and dynamic force for the industry.”
Originally from New Zealand, Terry is survived by her three daughters, several grandchildren and other family and friends. Services will be held on Oct. 22 at the Pine Lakes Clubhouse in Prescott, Ariz.
