SAFE Awards Mean So Much More This Year
The 2020 NAHB/Builders Mutual Safety Award for Excellence (SAFE) program is now open for applications. After an extraordinary six months in the home building industry, job site safety has taken on a more expanded meaning.
With so much focus, rightfully, on stopping the spread of COVID-19, it can be easy to forget that traditional safety programs and procedures designed to protect workers from job site hazards will save more construction lives, even during a pandemic.
The SAFE Awards program is the home building industry's only award recognizing home builders, remodelers, and other professionals who have made successful efforts to advance safety in the industry.
It is free to apply to the SAFE Awards. Use the NAHB awards portal to begin a nomination.
SAFE winners will be honored at the 2021 International Builders' Show in Orlando, Feb. 9-11, 2021.
But industry-wide recognition isn't the only benefit for SAFE Award winners. Companies that win the award are true champions of safety and often become trusted partners in NAHB's safety efforts.
Two 2019 SAFE Award winners, Comer Construction in Maryland and Baker Roofing Company in North Carolina, were instrumental in the development of NAHB safety resources this year. Their dedication to safety and helping other builders with free resources is a testament to the type of companies that win this award.
The 2020 SAFE Awards program is accepting applications through Oct. 31. Enter today. For more information, visit the SAFE Awards page.
