This week the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will release a free app, Get My Payment, which will be available through its website at IRS.gov. This app will allow taxpayers who filed their tax return in 2018 or 2019 but did not provide their banking information on their return to submit direct deposit information.

The IRS also released a new tool to allow eligible non-filers to submit the necessary information to the IRS to claim their payment.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides eligible taxpayers with a $1,200 recovery rebate plus $500 per eligible child.

Additional information on available tax relief may be found at irs.gov/coronavirus.
