Advanced Insulation Product Earns a Top Innovation Award
The winner of the 2020 Spark Award from the NAHB Leading Suppliers Council (LSC) is an innovative spray foam agent from Demilec called Heatlok HFO Pro.
The annual Spark Award recognizes the most innovative LSC member who demonstrates superior knowledge and expertise in developing cutting-edge building products and services. The award’s panel of judges felt Demilec’s Heatlok HFO Pro fit that description perfectly.
“We’re very honored to be recognized with this award for product innovation,” said Doug Brady, Demilec’s vice president of global innovation and product management. “Heatlok HFO Pro truly stands out as a high-performing solution within this segment of the industry.”
Heatlok was introduced in 2018 as Demilec’s second hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) system. The product is not only highly regarded as a superior air barrier and vapor retarder, its contents are among the most sustainable in the industry.
According to Brady, the benefits of Heatlok HFO Pro are far reaching, extending not only to the builders, but also to the designers, contractors and, ultimately, the home owners.
“Builders and architects like Heatlok’s superior insulating capability — at only 2 inches — and excellent barrier properties,” he said. "It allows designers to apply a continuous insulation barrier external to the home that allows for more interior square footage.”
In addition to outperforming the competition, the product can also be applied with ease.
“Contractors love the product with its superior yield and ease of spray,” Brady said. "They can easily apply the product and quickly be off the job site with minimal impact to the build process, shaving potentially days off the build timeline compared to traditional insulation methods.”
Demilec will be presented with the Spark Award at the LSC awards ceremony during a suppliers reception at The New American Home on Sunday, Jan. 19, prior to the 2020 International Builders' Show.
