Summer Intern - Information Technology Services

Information Technology Services

NAHB is seeking an intern to support the Information Technology Services department with creating an NAHB archival structure to drive continued and expanding utilization of NAHB’s historical resources. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, documenting and organizing the archival assets of NAHB with a focus on print, audio and video materials. Additionally, the intern will review the collection of archived digital objects currently held within the Sirsi system to ensure the assets have the correct metadata and taxonomy to allow for efficient retrieval.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized and motivated. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an information or library science program is a plus. The internship will begin on Monday, June 15 and end on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020.

Summer Intern - Office of Legal Affairs

Office of Legal Affairs

NAHB is seeking an intern to assist the attorneys in the Office of Legal Affairs. The intern will conduct legal research on cases and regulations involving construction liability, the American with Disabilities Act, environmental and real property. The ideal candidate will be a current law school student, preferably with completion of his/her second year of law school (2L).

Candidates should have an expressed interest in residential construction or real property issues. Qualified candidates will also be detail-oriented, organized, and motivated. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. Candidates should also have experience using Westlaw and be proficient in MS Office. The internship will begin on Monday, June 15 and end on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020.

Summer Intern - Economics and Housing Policy

Economics and Housing Policy

 NAHB is seeking a summer intern to support its Economics and Housing Policy group. The intern will work with NAHB economists and use SAS software to analyze summary file data for detailed geographies from the American Community Survey stored on NAHB's network drives. The intern will also create appropriate charts and tables and possibly maps, and write up the results for a Special Study to be published on line in HousingEconomics.com.

The ideal candidate will be a student pursuing a degree in Economics or a related field, and be proficient in MS Excel and SAS or a similar statistical package. The candidate should have strong analytic skills and be able to write effectively and explain technical information to a non-technical audience. Pursuing a graduate degree is a plus.

The internship will begin on Monday, June 15 and end on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020.

Summer Intern - Marketing and Business Development

Marketing and Business Development

NAHB is seeking an intern to assist the Marketing and Business Development group. The intern will assist with social media efforts, create new multimedia formats, review/sort data from 2020 International Builders' Show and organize the vast library of NAHB digital photo and graphic assets. The ideal intern candidate will be a student with a focus on marketing, digital media, journalism, film/video production or communications and would benefit from being exposed to the workflows, strategy and analysis of digital and traditional marketing efforts.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity, Microsoft Office, Web Publishing (WordPress, etc.) is also preferred. Examples of dynamic social content creation is required. The internship will begin on Monday, June 15 and end on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020.
