GOBA launched BuildOrlandoJobs.com through their Workforce Development Committee’s initiatives to promote skilled trades opportunities and to address ongoing shortages in the residential construction workforce. The website is a centralized hub for students, young adults, parents, and school counselors and staff, providing reliable information on the benefits, opportunities, and careers for skilled and non-skilled laborers in the residential building industry in the greater Orlando area. Furthermore, the website provides an outlet for members to post open job positions at their companies.

The HBA has worked with HBI, Seminole State Community College, and local high school districts to further drive the message that a career in construction is a viable and worthwhile option. Members have submitted over 200 roles on the job board and have seen success in meeting with potential employees. The goal of the website is to not only benefit GOBA members by connecting them with qualified laborers, but to also shine a positive outlook onto the benefits and career opportunities within the construction industry for the next generation of home builders.
