Job Costing is the process of tracking the costs associated with a specific project. This process is important in residential home building and remodeling because it provides builders with detailed information about the costs associated with each project. This course will help you identify and implement the key components of Job Costing.

By completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Provide an overview of Job Costing and its importance in residential home building and remodeling
  • Explain NAHB’s Chart of Accounts and how it can be used for Job Costing
  • Outline the steps involved in the Job Costing process
  • Identify common challenges in Job Costing and best practice for overcoming them

Business owners, project managers, superintendents, sales managers, remodelers, anyone involved in the pre-construction and construction process including small volume builders, remodelers and custom and semi-custom home builders.
