NAHB hosted a lively Leadership Reception highlighting BUILD-PAC, its bipartisan political action committee, during the Fall Leadership Meetings in Houston. Members of the Texas congressional delegation joined the event and reiterated their commitment to keeping housing at the forefront of the national agenda.

Several of the members of Congress commended NAHB for being the “go-to” resource for information related to the housing industry. Members of Congress in attendance included Reps. Kevin Brady (R-TX-8), Sylvia Garcia (D-TX-29), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX-18), and Randy Weber (R-TX-14). Below is a video recapping the event.

“After a challenging year, it was energizing to reconnect with our members from across the country and hear from our leaders in Washington about their efforts to make housing a higher national priority,” said Kevin Woodward, 2021 BUILD-PAC chairman. “Now more than ever, our voices must be heard and represented well on the Hill.”

Rep. Brady shared: “Home building is so crucial to America’s economy. More importantly, it is just crucial to families in the local communities. So, I came here to say thank you for being such great partners on so many economic issues. The solutions that you bring forward are exactly what we need in Washington.”

Rep. Jackson Lee also shared: “Home builders have always been eager to house Americans, whether they are rural or urban. I am here because I want to say thank you to them and encourage home building to grow and for National Association of Home Builders to grow.”

In 2022, members of the PAC will be rolling up their sleeves to prepare for the upcoming midterm elections and will host events around the country. To learn more about BUILD-PAC, contact Katie Crowley.
