NAHB and its members celebrate New Homes Month in April. With interest rates currently at historical lows, buyers are eager to find a new living space to call home.
According to a recent survey by NAHB, 60 percent of buyers prefer new homes, the highest level since 2007. Many Americans are ready to buy a new place, after spending more time at home this past year. In fact, first-time home buyers account for almost half (43 percent) of the new home market in 2021, up from 32 percent in 2018, according to the latest of the NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).
To help members and HBAs promote the benefits of new homes, NAHB has an online toolkit with materials that can be customized. Some highlights of the toolkit include:
- Customizable articles about the home buying
- Template press release
- Sample social media posts
- Radio spot scripts and talking points
- Print ads
