NAHB Committees, Councils Strengthen BUILD-PAC's Coffers for November Elections

Although NAHB's Spring Leadership Meeting was held virtually this year, dedicated BUILD-PAC advocates didn't let their enthusiasm dim for the Federation's advocacy efforts.

Throughout the week of June 15, council and committee chairs reached out to their members to share the importance of leading by example and investing in their businesses through BUILD-PAC. Although only 3% of members give to BUILD-PAC, all NAHB members benefit from our PAC and advocacy efforts.

By the end of the week, 10 NAHB committees and council Board of Trustees achieved 100% participation in BUILD-PAC, NAHB's bipartisan political arm that helps elect pro-housing, pro-business candidates to federal office. Together, these groups have raised $110,000 this year alone and more than $350,000 throughout the 2019-2020 election cycle.

Here are the council and committees who achieved 100% participation:

  • Associates
  • Association Planning
  • Budget and Finance
  • Construction and Safety
  • Federal Government Affairs
  • Membership
  • NHC Board of Governors
  • Nominations
  • Remodelers
  • Resolutions

Thank you to all the members who stepped up to help housing win this November. BUILD-PAC is the best tool to protect our industry and it allows us to support NAHB's Defenders of Housing on Capitol Hill.

BUILD-PAC Chairman Justin MacDonald notes the urgency of participation in BUILD-PAC: "It is important for us all to be engaged in the political process. If you don't stand up for yourself and your interests, nobody else will either."
