NAHB Student Chapters has collaborated with residential construction video personality Dave Cooper to create the “Bringing Industry and Education Together” live event series featuring onsite sessions at jobsites and businesses moving the needle in home building.

The first event was held last month at Lake Nona, an innovative, mixed-use community in Orlando.

Mark your calendars to join two more events this month.

Bringing Industry and Education Together at The House That SHE Built
Thursday, May 13, 1 p.m. ET
The House That SHE Built in Saratoga Springs, Utah was conceptualized by members of Utah Professional Women in Building (PWB), an affiliate chapter of the Utah HBA and NAHB. It started with the design team, comprised of a skilled draftswoman, designers and engineers, who created the plans for a two-story home with 3,200 square feet, including a finished basement. The completed home will be showcased in the 2021 Utah Valley Parade of Homes and is a showpiece highlighting the women professionals, skilled tradeswomen, and women-owned companies utilized for all stages of the project.

Dave Cooper will be live at the house for a walkthrough and interviews with key members of the development, design, construction and sales team.

Bringing Industry and Education Together at Autovol Volumetric Modular Manufacturing Factory
Tuesday, May 18, 1 p.m. ET

Autovol Volumetric Modular is pioneering new solutions in affordable housing that bring together modular construction and automation. Robots manage the heavy lifting and “Solutioneers” leverage process optimization.

Autovol plans to create hundreds of jobs at its factory, and many more in companies providing outside services. With the shortage of skilled labor in the construction trades and a significant need for improvement in the build process, Autovol is creating a new kind of workplace that combines engineers, programmers, machine operators, construction trades and innovative construction technology.

This a first look at the manufacturing facility in Idaho and an opportunity to meet CEO and co-founder Rick Murdock along with the Solutioneers who make it happen every day. This is an unique opportunity for members interested in the offsite home construction process.

Both events will be livestreamed on Dave Cooper LIVE’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Recordings of the events will be posted after.
