Gus Bauman is in the DC office of Beveridge & Diamond, the nation's leading environmental law firm, and handles cases and regulatory matters nationwide. He focuses on land use and environmental issues, advising clients on such matters as comprehensive planning, project development, and natural resource regulation. His recent matters have included zoning, historic preservation, wetlands, NEPA, TMDL, and Clean Air Act transportation conformity issues, as well as writing amici curiae briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court on regulatory takings of private property and wetlands regulation. Mr. Bauman's writings have been cited by the Supreme Court in several cases, and his leadership in the field, including numerous articles and conferences, has gained him a national reputation. He was NAHB's Litigation Counsel during the 1980's. He has been a highly-rated faculty member of the annual Land Use Institute for the American Law Institute-American Bar Association and is selected as a Washington, DC "Super Lawyer" by the peer reviewed organization.
