This webinar will discuss the importance of good contract drafting as the foundation for managing the legal risks and exposure associated with construction projects. The program will discuss the basic principles of contract law and interpretation. It will also review a typical construction contract, and include a brief analysis of many of the common provisions in construction contracts. It is the first in a series of three webinars highlighting important aspects of construction law and contracts.
Participants in this webinar will:
- Review the basics of contract law and interpretation for the construction professional
- Examine a typical construction contract, including important supporting documents such as architectural drawings and specifications
- Identify risks presented by using ambiguous or contradictory contract terms
- Discuss the importance of written change orders
