Dean Mon, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders and a home builder and developer from Shrewsbury, N.J. issued the following statement regarding Sen. John Cornyn’s support of the H-2B guest worker program:

“NAHB commends Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) for exhibiting leadership and foresight on the H-2B guest worker visa program, which allows for foreign-born workers to perform work in the U.S. on a temporary and as-needed basis. Given that immigrants have always been a big part of the construction workforce, as the housing industry moves to ramp back production, we need to look forward to ensure our industry has sufficient workers in a post-pandemic environment to provide much-needed housing for our citizens.”
