The purpose of this initiative, the Northern Kentucky Housing Blueprint, was to implement a unified local approach to address housing shortages, workforce availability, economic development and long-term community sustainability. The partnership included the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky (BIANKY), Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Covington Catalytic Fund, local governments and regional workforce organizations to encourage the collaboration of distinct regional groups, such as business recruitment, housing finance, development expertise, workforce training and policy advocacy.
The plan was executed by consolidating housing research and developing a Blueprint with tools and actionable strategies for municipalities, employers and policymakers to frame policy discussions. The project successfully strengthened collective and regional efforts to create a lasting, impactful and durable partnership structure. This demonstrates how complex regional challenges can achieve meaningful progress through collaboration amongst business, development, and policy leaders in the industry.
