Paul Emrath, Ph.D., is Vice President for Survey and Housing Policy Research at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) where he heads two departments. His Survey Department conducts a number of regular surveys, such as the quarterly survey for the widely cited Remodeling Market Index. His Housing Policy Department analyzes legislative and regulatory issues, such as EPA's Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, and conducts a broad range of research on subjects such as the economic impact of home building and remodeling on the national and local economies. Since joining NAHB in 1992, Dr. Emrath has published more than 150 articles on a variety of housing-related topics. He has a Ph.D. is in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
