Greetings Fellow HCCPs – and Welcome to The Credential.
I am honored to begin my term as chairman of the HCCP Board of Governors. The Board’s 22 highly dedicated professionals are all committed to ensuring that the HCCP remains the strongest Section 42 designation in our industry. Part of our job on the Board is to continue to find ways to make the HCCP designation a valuable tool for your continuing education and professional development.
The Credential is one of the benefits of being an HCCP. In this edition, you’ll discover how to build your own reference library, receive expert tips on controlling expenses at your property, learn more about property tax assessments, and see the impact of the low-income housing tax credit program, in terms of households served and jobs created. In addition, you’ll get the chance to meet the 2016 HCCP of the Year, Stacy Day, as well as one of our newest HCCP Board members, Ann Burge. Both Stacy and Ann share how the HCCP designation has benefited their careers.
But these informative Credential articles aren’t the only educational benefit of being an HCCP. HCCP members also have access to quarterly webinars, featuring expert industry speakers on a variety of topics. Over the past year, the Board has discussed the importance of these webinars and it is our hope that more and more HCCPs will take advantage of these offerings. With that in mind, I am excited to announce that all four 2016 webinars will be completely free!
The first webinar, “6 Expenses That Can Crush You,” takes a deep dive into the topic of managing property expenses, and features expert speakers from Capstone Management’s operations team. The webinar will take place on March 17 and is free if you register using the promo code MARHCCP. Don’t forget that attending these webinars counts towards your continuing education requirement for annual HCCP renewal. I hope you will join us.
I’d like to end by thanking the many designees who took the time to respond to our recent surveys about the benefits of the HCCP designation. Please continue to share your suggestions for article and webinar topics and content, as well as other recommendations on how we can keep improving your experience as an HCCP member. We look forward to hearing from you.
