Cassis, a Spanish-style luxury home in Irvine, Calif., has been selected as the Pacific regional winner in the 2015 Best in American Living Awards (BALA) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The home was designed Bassenian | Lagoni of Newport Beach, Calif., and built by Toll Brothers of Orange, Calif. The team also included interior designer CDC Designs of Costa Mesa, Calif., and developer The Irvine Company of Irvine, Calif.

The home features classical exterior architecture are enhanced by a front courtyard and several water features. Refined interior finishes abound, including dramatic double-door entry that leads into the two-story foyer. An expansive great room with a fireplace and an adjoining dining room opens to the outdoors.  Other highlights include a well-appointed kitchen with two center islands and a nook, and a lavish master suite that opens to the outdoors on a private deck.

BALA judges said they were impressed by the home’s overall beauty and its many unique features, especially the outside table and trough, the luxurious master deck, and an unusual glass jacuzzi.

In its 32nd year, BALA recognizes outstanding achievement by builders and design professionals in all sectors of the residential housing industry including single-family production, custom, rental, affordable, interiors, remodeling, community and international. Award winners were announced at the annual NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.
