Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead Re-cert

The Master Builders Association is proud to partner with Environmental Project Consulting LLC to provide Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) training. This class is recognized by the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology). This one-day re-certification training provides certification for 3 years. Once you have taken the two-day class, a one-day re-certification is required every three years. You have six months of a grace period after the expiration of your CESCL, but if you pass that time you must take the initial training again. 

Every site disturbing one or more acres of land, or part of a larger common plan of development MUST have a CESCL onsite to monitor stormwater using Best Management Practices (BMPs).The 2-day CESCL course is combines traditional classroom style lecture and hands-on field experiences. Active interactions and discussions between students and the instructors is also encourages to enhance your learning environment.

This course will cover:

  • Regulations
  • Impacts to water quality
  • Reporting and record keeping requirements of the permit
  • Up to date erosion and sediment control techniques
  • Best Management Practices (BMPs)
