Master the craft of successful selling. The Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) is for specialists in new home sales. Gain a broad understanding of the home building industry, better understand today’s consumers and learn advanced techniques used by real estate veterans for greeting prospects, overcoming objections and closing the sale.
Curriculum and Other Requirements
Students who began the CSP curriculum before Dec. 31, 2019, can complete either course work path listed below.
- Take the Certified New Home Sales Professional course
- Pass the accompanying test
Students who begin the CSP curriculum after Jan. 1, 2021, are required to complete the following.
- The New Home Sales Professional
- Understanding Today's New Home Buyer
- House Construction as a Selling Tool (online)
The course fees are determined by the HBA or other institution offering the classes.
Graduation and Renewal Fees
Graduation Fee – Kit available online/print (Includes personalized certificate, lapel pin and ribbon)

- $40 Non-members
Annual Renewal Fee
- $65 Members
- $95 Non-members
Effective Jan. 1, 2022, designees who have lapsed longer than one year from their renewal date will pay a $50 reinstatement fee in addition to the renewal fee.
Continuing Education Requirements
NAHB designees are required to complete four hours or credits each year. Designees are NOT required to send in proof of continuing education (CE) earned at time of renewal. However, designees may be chosen for a random audit and NAHB will contact them directly to provide proof of CE. View continuing education requirements for NAHB designations.
