Crunch Time for The New American Home 2023

Despite getting a head start on the project, the build team of The New American Home 2023 had to make a mad dash to the finish line. The main issues — just like many builders across the country continue to grapple with — stemmed from supply-chain delays.

“[After the project was underway], we sat for four or five months waiting on product,” said Michael Gardner, principal of Luxus Design Build and lead architect of the 2023 home. “We were just literally trying to get anything that showed up done and installed.”

Ultimately, building out of normal sequence did not derail the overall timeline, nor did it diminish the impressive qualities of the finished home, which will be the flagship exhibit of the NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS).

Gardner describes the home’s design as an innovative and beautiful balance of energy and tranquility: “The scale of the spaces are spectacular, and the integration of some really cool products have only elevated the design to a place that I didn’t even think we could go,” he said.

After the finishing touches are completed in the days ahead, the home will make its official debut Jan. 31-Feb. 2 during IBS 2023. All registered IBS attendees will be able to tour the home for free during show hours.

Tickets for the complimentary shuttle bus will be available each day on a first-come, first-served basis at The New American Home booth (C10) in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
