Join NAHB in celebrating Associate members throughout September for helping your business in the housing industry. Don’t forget the Associate Member Awards applications are open through Oct. 21. Members can apply for four different awards: Associate of the Year, Bill Polley Advocate of BUILD-PAC, Builders Engaging Associate Members (BEAM) and One to Watch. Associate member Mike Farr won both the 2018 Associate of the Year and the 2018 Bill Polley Advocate of BUILD-PAC awards. “Winning these two awards in one year was a huge honor for me,” said Farr. “Becoming an award winner changed business for me. People seek me out because they know my name from NAHB.” Even without winning the two awards last year, Farr has found that being a part of NAHB Associates Committee has been a game changer — professionally and personally. “Writing a check doesn’t get you businesses — contributing with time does,” said Farr. “Contribute to the group that supports the industry that you have your business in. If there’s a recession, you’ll all go under eventually, but it’ll be easier if you’re banding together.” If you are an Associate member, thank you for supporting America’s housing industry. Check out the Associates Toolkit developed by the NAHB Associates Committee to help you strengthen your local association and ensure you are getting the most from your membership. Thank you to Associates Premier Partner Sponsors Whirlpool Corporation, Dominion Energy, HBA Builders Risk Program and Louisiana Home Builders Association for your support.
