NAHB’s Young Professionals Committee held its most successful BUILD-PAC fundraiser during the Spring Leadership Meeting in Washington last month. The YP Committee held an after-hours networking event at Roofers Union, a popular Washington restaurant and bar not far from where the meetings were held. While making connections and talking career paths was the main event, a raffle to raise money for BUILD-PAC, NAHB’s political action committee, attracted plenty of attention. Under 45 Capitol Club member James Monroe walked away with a premium Samsung soundbar and BUILD-PAC walked away with more than $15,000. "This is the most money the YP Committee has ever raised for BUILD-PAC," said committee Chair Erin Deweese. "Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event." YP members were able to buy tickets for the raffle and donate to BUILD-PAC throughout the Spring Leadership Meeting, which included trips to Capitol Hill to visit members of Congress. Other committees engaged in a very successful campaign to sell socks to raise money for BUILD-PAC at the meeting. BUILD-PAC is fundraising right now in advance of the very important 2020 national and local election cycles.
