More about Jacob Atalla
Jacob Atalla is Vice President of Sustainability at KB Home, where he leads KB Home’s initiatives to make every home it builds more environmentally friendly.
Educated as an architect, Jacob has over 30 years’ experience with technology and green building. He draws on this deep expertise to create innovative solutions for building energy- and water-efficient homes.
Jacob worked on the 2016 Greenbuild KB Home ProjeKt, a sustainable concept home for today, tomorrow and the future. He also developed a new version of ProjeKt that debuted in February 2019. This concept home and many of KB Home's communities feature smart home technologies that offer convenience and time-savings for people.
He developed KB Home’s Energy Performance Guide® (EPG®), which for the first time provides homeowners with a HERS Index Score and estimated gas and electricity costs for every KB home. Jacob also prepares the annual sustainability reports released by KB Home, the first national homebuilder to do so.
KB Home has earned the highest honors a homebuilder can receive from EPA, as well as awards from U.S. Department of Energy and NGOs.
Jacob serves on the board of directors for Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET). He also serves on the technical committee for Leading Builders of America, and the advisory board of TecHome Builder.
