Alan Hanbury More about Alan Hanbury Alan Hanbury is the President of House of Hanbury Builders, Inc founded in 1976 and focusing on residential remodeling in the suburbs surrounding Hartford CT. The company has performed over 3500 jobs specializing in tasteful additions, classic kitchens and stylish and safe bathrooms. Both Alan's grandfather and father were custom home builders running separate companies and getting Alan and his brother Bob thinking of starting their own business as well but concentrating on remodeling for discerning homeowners. Alan received his Bachelor of Science in Management and then his MBA from RPI in 1975 before starting their business in 1976. He is a self described learning junkie and has attended every IBS since 1979 and every Remodelers Show from 1991 to 2018 and 20 of the JLC conferrences across the country. He was, most years, also teaching all day designation classes and classes in the main grid on subjects like Margin and Markup, Pricing Strategies, Job Costing, Cash Management, Defensive Estimating and Business Planning and Budgeting. Alan is very involved in the NAHB, the HBRA of CT and his local getting to Senior Life director this year and has served the local remodelers council executive committee every year since 1989. He is also credentialed with designations provided by NAHB earning his CGR in 1990, CAPS in 2002, CGP in 2005 and GMR in 2006. Among his honors his firm was selected as local and state Remodeler of the Year in 1991, Big 50 1995, GMR of the Year, NAHB Builder/Remodeler Educator of the Year, Local Remodeler of the Year and the Foundation award from his local. Alan lives in Newington, CT with his wife Debbie and has 2 grown children living in CT and Boston, MA Alan enjoys golf, bowling, watching New England teams and Sox with a partial season package.
