The NAHB Professional Women in Building Council’s (PWB) Building Hope Scholarship Fund supports high school and college students pursuing education and professional development opportunities in residential construction.

PWB Building Hope Scholarships are awarded annually to state and local PWB chapters that participate in the council’s annual award programs and membership competitions. These chapters distribute the funds to regionally selected scholarship recipients.

The fund was established in 1955, when Hope S. Bettilyon, the first president of PWB, then named the NAHB Women’s Auxiliary, collected $1 from each member and began the tradition of an annual $1,000 scholarship. As the fund has grown, so has its distribution. Today the fund is responsible for supporting decades of women in the building industry.

Individuals, businesses, members and friends of the industry are encouraged to make contributions to the Building Hope Scholarship Fund.

Donors are recognized in NAHB PWB’s flagship publication, Building Women magazine (unless they wish to remain anonymous).
