NAHB honors housing professionals for their outstanding service in elevating the image of NAHB designations with the Designee and Educator of the Year awards. Winners are recognized each year at the International Builders' Show.

2019 Designees of the Year
Builder Designee of the Year
Michael Turner, CAPS, CGB, CGP, GMB, Master CGP is the owner of Classic Urban Homes located in Dallas, Texas. A 34-year veteran of the Dallas home building industry. Believing in giving back to the building industry, Turner plays an active role at the Dallas Builders Association and is a champion advocate for continuing education. Michael's company, Classic Urban Homes, was the recipient of the 2015 APEX Award recognizing professionalism in doing business with associate members. He has experience in all stages of the home building process, including design, budgeting, purchasing and day-to-day onsite supervision. Michael's goal is to provide quality, sustainable and innovative homes to his clients.
Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) Designee of the Year
Wanda E. Gozdz, CAPS is founder and president of Golden Age Living, LLC, a consulting and residential interior design company located in Deerfield Beach, Fla. Her goal is twofold: to inform consumers as they age on how to adapt their homes to their changing lifestyles and to educate professionals who serve the senior market on how to help clients and their families to "age in place." She served on the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) which helped pass legislation to support women business owners. During her career, Gozdz has received many awards which include being named the NAWBO 1995 Public Policy Advocate of the Year, 1995 Small Business Woman of the Year and she was named the CAPS Educator of the Year in 2014.
Green Professional Designee of the Year
Tag Gilkeson, CAPS, CGA, CGB, CGP, CGR, CSP, GMB, Master CGP, Master CSP, MIRM is the owner of Tag & Associates, LLC a design/build company located in Carrollton, Texas. He originally got started in the real estate and construction industry in 1999 after he obtained his Texas REALTOR license. His primary business focus was in investment real estate. From there, it was an easy transition into buying real estate and flipping houses on his own. He has owned several fix and flips and rental properties along the way. In 2009, he turned his attention to gaining more knowledge in his field by earning an associate degree in Architecture and a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. Gilkeson is also an approved instructor for NAHB Education.
Remodeler Designee of the Year
Alan Archuleta, CAPS, CGA, CGB, CGP, CGR, GMB is the owner of Archuleta Builders located in Morristown, N.J. With over 20 years of construction industry experience, he enjoys helping his clients bring their dreams to life through his custom renovations and remodeling projects. He is extremely active in the building industry and donates much of his time towards improving his community and the building industry, including being a board member at the Morris Habitat for Humanity (MHH). Volunteering his time and materials to MHH, he recently worked with them to finish building a home for a deserving family in Morris County. A believer in life-long learning, Archuleta is passionate about education and improving his knowledge of the industry.
Sales and Marketing Designee of the Year
Kathie McDaniel, CGP, CMP, CSP, Master CSP, MIRM is the owner of Grande Real Estate Services, in Tampa, Fla. She has nearly 30 years in the new home industry. Her expertise in sales and marketing has helped several underperforming companies rebuild and revamp their sales and marketing programs. As a licensed real estate Broker in several states for over 25 years, she has been strategic in generating business specific to new home sales in partnering with real estate industry professionals. An approved instructor for NAHB Education, she encourages students attending classes to get involved in NAHB, to embrace courses offered, earn designations and move toward being a future leader of the industry.
Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) Designee of the Year
Scott Michael Dunn, HCCP is the Chief Executive Officer/Principal of Costello Compliance, Sioux Falls S.D., a consulting firm which draws on decades of first-hand experience in housing to provide value-rich products and services to the housing industry. A recognized expert in the industry, he has over three decades of direct experience in affordable housing management, auditing and training. Dunn has been published in numerous trade periodicals and is the author of several textbooks and regulatory manuals on various affordable housing programs. In 2019, his partnership with the Rhode Island tax credit agency won an NCSHA award for innovation and excellence.
2019 Educator of the Year
Fritzi Gros-Daillon, CAPS is the founder of Household Guardians, a consulting firm working with seniors, families and caregivers, specializing in home safety and modification. Serving as Director of Education & Advocacy with Age Safe America, Gros-Daillon trains new advisor members on business topics, home safety assessment, and communication skills to facilitate conversation among family members, as well as marketing and networking. In addition, she speaks as an advocate for aging in place at national and international conferences and currently serves on the Board for the Foundation for Senior Well Being.
