The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) created the Family Medical Leave Expansion Act and Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act. These measures provide protections for employees who need to take leave during the COVID-19 health crisis. Employers should become familiar with the provisions of the Act, which took effect on April 1, 2020.

NAHB provided a member webinar in partnership with law firm Kelley Drye, whose employment experts took a deep dive into the new law and the circumstances under which paid sick leave and the expanded family leave will be available to employees, shared practical advice and discussed potential hidden issues.
