NAHB is urging members to heed the recent calls for construction companies to donate personal protective equipment that can be used by healthcare workers on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19 caused by a new coronavirus. Of particular need is N95 respirator masks, commonly used on construction sites to protect workers from dust and other particles.
Companies interested in donating masks should contact their local and state HBAs, public health offices and hospitals if they wish to make donations. FEMA also recently announced that it is accepting donations of the masks for to provide with healthcare workers in need of masks. Learn more here.
NAHB is also encouraging members to halt new orders of the masks.
