Litigation Program

The Litigation Department is tasked with going to court on behalf of NAHB to vindicate the interests of the housing industry against unlawful government action. The Department carries out its tasks by bringing suit directly, such as in challenging administrative agency regulations, or filing amicus curiae briefs in various federal and state courts. Housing Finance Issues Litigation
NAHB litigates critical housing finance concerns associated with statutes and regulatory schemes such as the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.

Environmental Issues Litigation
NAHB frequently litigates cases that address the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts.

Growth & Land Use Issues Litigation

Legal Action Fund Application Deadline

The Legal Action Fund is designed to help defray litigation costs for builders, developers and state/local associations who are involved in cases of national significance or exploring a common problem for the housing industry. If you are interested in a Legal Action Fund grant, apply now. The deadline for consideration at NAHB's 2009 Fall Board of Directors Meeting in Chicago, IL, is Tuesday, August 18, 2009.
