Ohio Home Builder Honored with National ‘Beam’ Award
January 23, 2013 - North Canton custom home builder Fred W. Tobin has been honored as the 2012 recipient of the BEAM (Builders Engaging Associate Members) award by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The announcement was made this morning at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.
Tobin, a member of the Building Industry Association of Stark County, Ohio, and owner of Tobin Construction Co., is a longtime advocate of trade association membership and has been active on the local, state and national level since he first joined in 1979.
Tobin’s understanding of the importance of excellent trade partner relationships and his commitment to doing business with fellow members of NAHB garnered him the national honor.
Sponsored by the NAHB Associates Committee, the award is designed to encourage builder members to use the goods and services offered by other member companies and to recognize the one builder who exemplifies this vitally important teamwork.
“Fred Tobin is the kind of NAHB member that this award was designed to highlight,” said Dianne Beaton, associates committee chair. “He understands how building relationships with fellow members is key to a successful business and adds to the value of membership.”
The suppliers and contractors with whom Tobin does business echoed Beaton’s statements in their testimonials supporting Tobin’s application. “Fred does an incredible job in building lasting relationships with associates,” and “working with Fred has always been a good experience,” the comments said.
In addition to his leadership positions at the home builders associations, Tobin is an active volunteer in his community, helping to found the local WMCA, serving on the township zoning book review committee and contributing his talents as a softball coach.
