February 9, 2012 - Lanny Tillery, a Whirlpool Corp. account manager in Benton, Ark., has been honored as the Associate of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The announcement was made this morning at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando.
A longtime volunteer for home building associations in Greater Little Rock, Greater Hot Springs, Saline and Cabot, Ark., Tillery was honored for his 20-year commitment to the home building industry and to the state, local and national committees on which he has served.
Three other supplier members were also honored in Orlando with their induction into the Society of Honored Associates: Jerry Cowan of the Builders Mutual Insurance Company in Greensboro, N.C.; Monica Sommerfeldt Lewis, CGA, of Archer Lion Inc. in Chippewa Falls, Wis.; and H. James Lowe of Land Title Guaranty in Sioux Falls, S.D.
“Lanny Tillery represents what is best about the partnerships between builders and remodelers and the product manufacturers and service providers who work in this important industry,” said NAHB senior officer Rick Judson, a home builder in Charlotte, N.C.. “Working together, we ensure success – and have a positive impact on the American economy.”
Tillery has helped to organize and lead a number of fundraising and networking events in local Arkansas home building associations including golf tournaments, home shows and home tours and parades. On the state level, he has long been active in educational initiatives and in the political action committee for home builders.
Tillery also serves on the NAHB Board of Directors and has been honored as a Life Director since 2008. He holds the Certified Graduate Associate, Certified Green Professional and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist educational designations from NAHB as well.
