March 12, 2009 - The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM) presented Brenda Sanders with the 2009 President’s Award. Sanders, NAHB’s Vice President of Joint Venture Education & Designation Programs, received the award at the IRM Commencement Breakfast held during the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas in January.

“Brenda has been an outstanding advocate of the Institute of Residential Marketing and the National Sales and Marketing Council since the inception of NAHB’s University of Housing,” said S. Robert August, Fellow, MIRM, CMP, 2008 President of the IRM.  “Her excellent attention to detail and teamwork have been integral in evolving the IRM member education programs into the quality courses they are today.”

The President of the IRM created a special President’s Award in recognition of an individual’s selfless contribution to the goals and objectives of the Institute.  The award was created in 2002 and has honored both NAHB members and staff for their efforts in supporting the IRM.

Starting her education career as a middle school French teacher, Sanders began her service to the housing industry in 1997, working with designation programs with the Home Builders’ Institute as its director of advanced education. Sanders joined NAHB’s University of Housing, formed in 2002, to lead the Joint Venture Education and  Designation Programs initiative, helping to bring a high level of education to HBAs across the country.
