How to Join the 50+ Housing Council

The NAHB 50+ Housing Council supports members by providing nationally recognized educational programs, industry research, networking opportunities, specialized publications, awards and recognition programs, and regulatory and legislative assistance to 50+ housing professionals.

To join the 50+ Housing Council, you must be a member of NAHB. Check out the list of local 50+ Housing Councils to see if your local or state HBA operates a local council. If a local or regional council is not yet available in your area, you can join via an at-large membership for $85.

Here are three quick ways to become a 50+ Housing Council member:

1. Join online. Any NAHB member who is logged into our Web site can become an at-large Council member online. If you aren't logged in, or don't have your PIN number (which you will need in order to log in), simply call our Member Services staff at 800-368-5242 x0. They'll walk you through the process. Once you get your username and password, log in to www.nahb.org and then go to www.nahb.org/join50plus.
   
   
2. Download a 50+ Housing Council membership application form and fax it in.
   
   
3. Call 50+ Housing Council staff at 800-368-5242 x8220 and we'll take your registration information over the phone.

If you don't belong to NAHB, you can still access valuable resources by subscribing to 50+ Housing Magazine.

Across the nation, builders and developers are striving to meet the housing needs of boomers, empty nesters, active adults, retirees, and older seniors. Since 1989, the 50+ Housing Council has served the diverse needs of NAHB members involved in all aspects of 50+ housing, including design, development, finance, ownership, management, and sales and marketing. With the U.S. 55+ population hitting 85 million by 2014 and half of all households headed by someone ages 55 and older, it's the fastest-growing segment of the housing industry.

You must be a member of NAHB to join the 50+ Housing Council or one of our local 50+ Housing Councils.
