The NAHB 50+ Housing Council currently has more than a dozen local, regional, and state 50+ Housing Councils across the country. The purpose of local 50+ Housing Councils is to provide additional educational and networking opportunities for NAHB builder and associate members who serve the rapidly growing 50+ market, which includes active adult, assisted living, independent living, and other 50+ housing.
A local 50+ Housing Council offers members opportunities to meet with other industry professionals in their area, allowing them to share ideas for growth and to engage in strategic problem-solving. A local 50+ Housing Council fosters an environment of mutual support among members – even competitors. A local council also gives members educational programs, economic forecasts for the local or regional 50+ housing market, recognition opportunities, and other activities as well as serve to promote the 50+ housing industry within their respective local and state home builders associations.
If there is not a local 50+ Housing Council in your area, you can join as an at-large member of the NAHB 50+ Housing Council for just $85/year. Sign up online.
If your local or state home builders association doesn't have a 50+ Housing Council and you are interested in forming one, a 50+ Housing Council Local Council Resource is available to get you started.
