The Log Homes Council (LHC) is a national trade association formed by log home manufacturers to develop, adopt, and promote quality log building systems and ethical business practices.

Distributes “The Log Home: An American Dream” brochure to consumers, helping define the role of the council in the log home industry.
Promotes awareness of LHC members among builders through regular articles and coverage in NBN Online, the BSC’s Systems Built Advantage, and other association newsletters.
Provides marketing opportunities and exposure in leading industry magazines; helping establish consumer confidence in working with LHC member companies.
Generates additional exposure for members by participating in several log home tradeshows nationwide.
Distributes over 30,000 copies of the Building Systems Councils Annual Membership Directory to builders, developers, and consumers to promote sales leads.
Provides quarterly press releases on a wide array of industry topics which members can use to generate local PR activities.
Grants members the ability to use the LHC and NAHB logos in their marketing materials to help set their companies apart.
Powerful Advocacy on Policy and Technical Issues
Assists in the development of key industry codes and policies. For example, the council played a significant role in developing the ANSI-approved ICC 400 Standard for theDesign and Construction of Log Structures, which provides a standard for log home construction code recognition across the country.
Educates consumers and the industry on the energy efficiency of log homes. The council conducted log wall testing for energy efficiency code compliance through Oak Ridge National Laboratory to develop data of log home thermal mass and thermal conductivity qualities.
As part of the NAHB, has the strength to fight and defeat excessive regulations and defend housing initiatives on Capitol Hill, in your state, and in the communities where you do business.
Continuing Education and Networking Opportunities
Hosts SHOWCASE, the leading educational conference and trade show for the systems-built industry. This event enables members to network with leaders, connect with suppliers, and learn how to tap into the newest systems-built trends.
Provides an inside look at manufacturing facilities and operations in the log home industry through the council’s annual President’s Tour. This high-profile industry event attracts owners, presidents, and key decision makers in the log home industry.
Currently developing a certified log home builders training program through the Home Builders Institute, the workforce training arm of NAHB.
Gives members the opportunity to network with leaders in the log home industry through participation in the council.
Provides a “Manufacturers Kit for Builders” on how to put on a course for educating builders about log construction.
Access to Log Grading Program Certification
Establishes the quality of council members by assuring consumers that all logs from a LHC member company meet or exceed acceptable standards set by the model building code and ICC 400.
Access to Guidance on Developing a Construction Manual
Addresses key aspects of log construction, including safety and design, settling, roof construction, energy requirements, wind loads, etc.
Ensures that LHC member companies have a comprehensive construction process in place.
Superior Code of Ethics
Sets high ethical standards and business practices for its members.
Enables consumers, builders, and other LHC members to air grievances via an established Ethics Committee.
