All resolutions and recommendations to be considered at the 2014 Fall Board of Directors Meeting should be submitted to NAHB by Thursday, August 7 as required by the NAHB bylaws. The intent of this requirement is to provide directors, local HBAs and association leaders with drafts of proposed resolutions before the meeting to ensure the fullest possible grassroots discussion of policy proposals and encourage greater participation among directors  at NAHB board meetings.

Please note:

  • All resolutions/recommendations must be submitted by a director currently serving on the NAHB Board of Directors by Aug. 7 to the Chairman of the Board and NAHB staff.
  • The full resolution should be emailed, faxed or mailed to Kevin Kelly, Chairman of the Board, through Jessica Lynch at NAHB. Jessica’s email address is jlynch@nahb.org. Her telephone number is 800-368-5242, x8401. Her fax number is 202-266-8097.
  • Resolutions submitted after the 30-day deadline will still be considered at the upcoming board meeting, but they will require a two-thirds vote (rather than a simple majority vote) for passage by the board.
  • A summary of all resolutions to be considered during the meeting will be posted on the NAHB website the week of Aug. 11. This summary will briefly describe each resolution and will include the name of the original sponsor, the committees/councils to which the resolution has been referred and the name of the NAHB staff contact for that particular policy. A full text of the proposed resolutions will also be posted.
