The NAHB University of Housing proudly presents the 7th annual National Designation Month in February 2009. National Designation Month celebrates achievements, rewards accomplishments, emphasizes public awareness and encourages education participants to complete requirements in NAHB's designation programs. National Designation Month is a time to celebrate our successes and keep momentum high!

National Designation Month 2009The NAHB University of Housing will again sponsor National Designation Month so members can hone their business skills and convey to their clients the superior training, practical experience and in-depth knowledge that come with earning an NAHB designation.
This is an ideal time to jump-start or complete a designation. In addition, local associations around the country are also planning courses, events and guidance to help members obtain their designations and advance their professionalism and business knowledge. A Great HBA Opportunity

"The chief thing that a designation does is give you a huge boost in self-confidence," said Mike Weiss, CGR, CGB, GMB, CAPS, of Weiss RCMI, who with his four designations, speaks from experience. "It's an emblem that signifies that you have completed an element of study and puts you a cut above — not just because of what you have learned, but because you have taken the initiative to improve yourself."
Thomas Stephani, CGB, CAPS, GMB, CMP, MIRM of William Thomas Homes in Crystal Lake, Ill., agrees. "NAHB professional designations are important because they give you the opportunity to show your customers that you've done something that other builders in the marketplace have not — continued your education and learned how to be a better builder," he said.
National Designation Month 2008 Highlights
The 2008 NDM was a great success. Participating HBAs across the country held 164 classes with a total of 2,505 registrants!
Interest in education at NAHB is at an all-time high. Since The NAHB University of Housing was established in 2002, class offerings have increased 221%, registrations have increased 223% and graduations by our builder members have increased 324%.
