Counterfeit and Non-Conforming Building Products

The International Housing Association (IHA) has identified counterfeit and non-conforming building products as a key issue affecting many member countries. The IHA formed a working group in 2013 to help identify the most critical issues for each member country and establish a program designed to resolve them.

In 2014, IHA members signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work collectively to identify solutions and share information on non-conforming and counterfeit building products.

The working group meets regularly, and in 2016 has been actively monitoring the progress of the review of the European Union (EU) Construction Product Regulation and also the work of the  Organisation for EconomicCo-operation and Development (OECD) Taskforce on Charting Illicit Trade.
