  A History of Giving Back

Home builders are known for their independence, their entrepreneurial spirit, and their willingness to take a risk to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Home builders are also known for their compassion.

The list of NAHB’s philanthropic activities, impressive by any standard, includes:
• Home Building Industry Disaster Relief Fund
• The National Housing Endowment
• Home Builders Care

and others, in partnership with organizations like:
• Shelter for Life International, and
• Habitat for Humanity

Recently NAHB targeted contributions to victims of tragedies like Hurricane Katrina and the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. For victims of the 9/11 attacks, the Home Builders Care Victims’ Relief Fund raised $9.8 million in only five months.

For decades, NAHB has encouraged its members to make meaningful contributions to their communities, and many have responded with generosity and compassion.
