  Educating the Entrepreneur

Over the years NAHB has provided education to its members in a variety of formats (conferences, self-study kits, instructor-led courses, audio seminars) on a broad range of topics. The goal of these ongoing education efforts is to help every NAHB member succeed in their business.

1946 marked only the third NAHB Convention, but members could find there an impressive line-up of educational forums, reflecting the concerns and interests of the day: Land Planning and Shopping Centers, and Building and Financing Homes for Veterans. The annual Builders' Show now features more than 300 education sessions on everything from green building to international affairs.

Today, The NAHB University of Housing makes available to members six audio seminars, more than 50 course titles, and 18 conferences. The University also offers 16 professional designations, the first of which (initiated in 1976) was MIRM — Member, Institute of Residential Marketing.
