  Working Together

NAHB was founded and continues to thrive today because it is has always been focused on serving its members. From a handful of local associations representing only 300 members scattered across 11 cities in 1942 to a robust organization now serving 235,000 members in more than 800 local associations, NAHB has never lost that focus.

By providing local associations with well-produced and carefully focused marketing materials, on which the local home building associations (HBAs) can imprint their own identities, NAHB has supported its members where it counts. Because in the end, just like politics, all housing is local.

And while NAHB has played a vital role in shaping national policies affecting home building, it has quietly and effectively played an even more important role in providing HBAs with the marketing and know-how that has made home building a key part of the American story and a consistent driver of the American economy.
